Dave Gau
President / Animation Director
Dave is a Richmond native who took a few years off to study animation at Rochester Institute of Technology. He has been an active member of the Richmond production community since his return in 1989, spending his first year back at NBC 12. Dave then created and grew the graphics and animation department at Metro Video Productions and after 9 years he left to establish what is now ShaveFX. When not in front of the computer, Dave has been seen often performing improv comedy on stage with ComedySportz Richmond, as well as other comedic ventures at the Richmond Funny Bone and Chamberlayne Actors Theatre. Shannon Honaker
Senior Animator / FX Artist
Shannon Honaker has been a part of the Richmond production community for over 10 years, working for some of the areas most respected companies and clients. After attending Virginia Commonwealth University, Shannon worked in broadcast animation and graphics for 3 years. He then switched gears and went to work in print design for 3 more years, after which he returned to animation with a Richmond production company in 1998. After 5 years there, he joined forces with Dave Gau and ShaveFX. Shannon has worked with some very prestigious clients in his career including Fleer/Skybox, Glaxo Wellcome, Durham Bulls and the United States Army.
Michael Clinger
3D Animator / Motion Graphics Artist
Mike joins us from the great state of Indiana where he attended Ball State University. It was there that he learned to animate, design, and model his way to a BFA in Electronic Arts and Animation. Immediately after graduation Mike started freelancing for Ball State where he helped to create a 2D animated music video and a roto-scoped promo spot for the city of Indianapolis. Alas, the life of a freelancer was not for him, and so it was with much joy that Mike joined the crew at ShaveFX in March of 2008. Maya and After Effects are Mike's tools of choice, but he's also been known to pick up a guitar or golf club from time to time. Hi Mom.
